100,000 people. This ranked the state as having the 18th highest total
Crime Index. For Violent Crime Utah had a reported incident rate of
255.7 per 100,000 people. This ranked the state as having the 41st
highest occurrence for Violent Crime among the states. For crimes
against Property, the state had a reported incident rate of 4,220.3 per
100,000 people, which ranked as the state 12th highest. Also in the
year 2000 Utah had 1.9 Murders per 100,000 people, ranking the state as
having the 42nd highest rate for Murder. Utah’s 38.6 reported
Forced Rapes per 100,000 people, ranked the state 14th highest. For
Robbery, per 100,000 people, Utah’s rate was 55.6 which
ranked the state as having the 40th highest for Robbery. The state also
had 159.5 Aggravated Assaults for every 100,000 people, which indexed
the state as having the 41st highest position for this crime among the
states. For every 100,000 people there were 642.5 Burglaries, which
ranks Utah as having the 27th highest standing among the states.
Larceny - Theft were reported 3,288.5 times per hundred thousand people
in Utah which standing is the 4th highest among the states. Vehicle
Theft occurred 289.3 times per 100,000 people, which fixed the state as
having the 31st highest for vehicle theft among the states
